Colbo thank Central Victorian Car Sales and Hauslers Machinery for being a valued sponsor in 2009
Last week we welcomed Huntly to the MJ Morgan Oval in good conditions. The dew wipers game didn’t get a start with Huntly depleted of numbers and unable to field a side. Disappointing for the young guys for both clubs, but a boost for Runnymeade on Sunday with some fresh legs able to help out. With the thirds cancelled, the reserves started a little earlier and the Colbo boys were still working on Adelaide time looking about 30 minutes behind Huntly all day. The hawks gave our boys a touch up in all areas of the game which was a nice thud back to reality. Better players in a Barry Crocker of a performance were Easty, Dish, Levy, Hadleigh and Coatesy.
The seniors played the style of footy that the 2s couldn’t, and reaped the rewards on the scoreboard thanks largely to the accurate boot of Weeksy who snagged 16 majors eclipsing Meatheads record (the scribe at the bendigo paper was sacked due to ‘false reporting’ when describing Ray as a ‘club legend’ in Monday’s edition). It always takes 2 to tango and Grant can thank the fine delivery into his area with Cheezel, Paddy, Bos, Nighta, and Linno hitting him lace out all afternoon.
Saturday night at the Colbo Ball saw a much improved performance from most of the 2s boys, however it was the Travis Kelly show when he decided to take DJing matters into his own hands and play Johnny Cash songs all night. There was also an idiot trying to belt out Springsteen classics on Taity’s Bus - he was ejected promptly. Our man Bindy was again without a shirt, whilst hotdogs sashayed through the netballers on the dancefloor like a bad case of swine flu.
Today we’re at White Hills in what is always a good contest.
Colbo Trivia: we all know that Meathead loves Melbourne Cans, but can you guess what ‘naturally produced’ drink he loves? Catch up with Ann McEvoy for the answer.
