Saturday, 27th June.
Under 16`s had a considerable win over Hopetoun even with key players; Josh Coates out due to injury and Devan Pohlner & Corey Plozza participating in the Under 15`s V/Line Championships Schoolboys Carnival in Melbourne. Gerard Kelly played well across the half back line and Kale Barker & Nick McKay fired up the forward line.
The awards went to Justin Smith (CGU) who created space all day and moved the ball well. Johnny Walsh (Coates family glass) was solid all day and Kale Barker (Mallee Deli) played successfully up forward and down back - well done boys.
The Minis had a mighty game and came away excited winners. Jaivon Stacey was presented with this weeks award from Ouyen Mix Concrete & Hire.
The Reserves followed on from the Unders with a comprehensive win over Hopetoun. Their style, class and overall contribution was well worth watching. Awards went to Nic Monghan (Nev Hamilton Engineering), Nathan 'Elvis' Dunne (Poole & Jackson), Lachie Wilson (Minapre Hotel), Scott Clarke (Karingal Contracting) and the 'Red Rock of Gibralter' - Darren Old (Ouyen Tyre Service.
Seniors set themselves a new standard with a grinding, hard fought victory. The win was all the more impressive with no 50 metres, despite some really trying decisions regarding protecting the players with, and after disposing of the ball. Awards went to: Jake Anstey (RTA Ag Services), Brenton Jardine (Elders), Jesse Vallance (North West Ag), Peter Caldow (Heenan's Roadhouse) and Andy Jardine (Sunrise Ag).
