LAHARUM has got its revenge on the Swifts after last year’s grand final result, with a 91-point whipping in round one on Saturday.
The Mountain Men took an early lead and by half-time led the Baggies by 85 points.
By the final siren, Laharum had 11 individual goal-kickers contributing to a 25.13 (163) finish. The Baggies ended the game on 10.12 (72).
Mountain Men coach Shannon Argall said he was thrilled with his team’s effort.
‘‘A big win like that at Stawell doesn’t come often,’’ he said.
Argall said it was great to beat the Baggies after last year’s grand final loss.
But his focus was on 2015.
‘‘It’s more important we got the four points for this year,'' he said.
"We’ve always had tough close finishes at Stawell.
"It was a team effort and it’s really difficult to choose a best player.’’
Argall was among the best for his team, booting the second-highest number of goals – four, one short of team-mate Jason Przibilla’s effort.
Robert Miller, 2, was also in the top players.
For the Swifts, coach Paul Hanns kicked three goals and Zach Salmi two.
