Player Behaviour Concerns

RDFL Operations have been advised of player behaviour issues. All coaches are reminded that your duty is to promote the enjoyment of football and not turn a blind eye to unduly rough play, intimidation or violence. Please if you witness your players doing anything untoward it can be stamped out quickly by having a word to them, the parents and the coach. If you witness an opposition player doing something untoward, inform your Team manager. Collectively we need to put an end to this rubbish.

Investigations can be required for incidents that go uncited by the umpires. I’m sure everyone would rather these be avoided.

RDFL Umpire Shortages

If you know of any past players or club supporters who may be interested in becoming an umpire please advise Paul Gates, or the RDFL directly via Glen Shilling on 0408 507 293. This week we have come close to not being able to provide umpires across the board. We may need to utilise club umpires in coming weeks if the shortage isn’t alleviated. Any assistance is appreciated, and umpiring is a great way to be involved with the kids and stay fit as well!

RDFL Clarification of Player Numbers

A detailed clarification of how to deal with player shortages (or requests for loan players) on match day has been added to the Club Documents section.  The summary is as follows;

If you are short players and request some loan players 15 minutes prior to the match, your opposition should oblige. If they do not oblige then both teams must play with even (reduced) numbers. You cannot tell the opposition that you are playing short when the game starts and that they must also. The aim of this by-law is to get as many players playing on the field – NEVER FORGET THIS!

You can not get 5 minutes into the game and request an evening up of numbers – BE PROACTIVE AND APPROACH THE OPPOSITION BEFORE THE MATCH.
