Newcastle Permanent Coach of The Month

NNSWF Club Development Officer Phillip Andrews came to UONWFC in April to present Chloe Barwick with the "Coach of the Month" award for April.

Chloe was a new coach last year and over the year we saw her develop and bond with her team in a really significant way. As a result of this we have asked her to take on board coaching our Zone Community League teams meaning that she is now responsible for the coaching and mentoring of over 32 women, a role we think she will excel in.
Chloe was an instrumental part of our grading process this year, engaging with players, coaches and committee members ensuring cooperation, coordination and enjoyment from all perspectives.
Chloe is a supportive coach that is always looking to develop her skills and her knowledge and the effort that she puts into the club and her team is reflective of this. As a club we feel it would be amazing for Chloe to receive recognition for her hard work. We want to recognise and reward the work that she has put into our club already this year! UONWFC is extremly fortunate to have Chloe Barwick on board and we look forward to seeing how she develops as a coach in years to come.

Newcastle Permanent Volunteer of The Month

Tuesday 14th of May saw NNWSF Club Development Officer Phillip Andrews visit UONWFC with a "Volunteer of the Month Award" for the month of May to present to our Vice-President Steph Palmer.

Steph has been an instrumental part of our club for many years, holding a variety of roles within the club from player, purchasing officer, secretary, president and now vice-president. She has continually offered guidance and constructive advice in all these roles. So far this year she has been heavily involved with player registrations, player recruitment, player retention and club administration.
Stephanie was an instrumental part of our grading process. She was heavily involved with developing grading plans, coordinating with coaches and coordinating grading sessions. She is always patient and constructive with her feedback to the coaches, fellow committee members and most importantly our player members. It is often the case that new members are apprehensive to attend a grading session but Stephanie's approachable manner aids in breaking down this barrier. She is always one of the first to greet and chat to new members (and returning members) and ensure that they are feeling confident and happy and help guide them through the process of grading/signing up. This is a particular important quality to have when engaging with new adult players who are often wary of trying a new sport.
From a club administration perspective, Steph's knowledge about club football is a great asset. She is continually bringing new and better ways to deal with club registration and has been instrumental in helping other executive committee members understand the new playfootball system. She is always willing to sit with other committee members and listen to and help solve problems they may be having with their administrative roles.
There is no doubt that Stephanie will continue to work diligently for UoN Women's Football throughout the year and we as a committee feel the need to recognise and reward her efforts so far.
