The establishment of the Victorian Champions League has been driven by the FFV as part of it's Strategic Direction of amongst other things Talent Identification and providing a pathway for players into Victorian State and other representative teams.
The Victorian Champions League is a regional representative competition comprising 8 Melbourne Metro Zones and 4 Regional Country Victoria Zones. The representative teams will be in the following age groups:
  • Under 13, 14, 15 & 17 Boys
  • Under 13, 14 & 17 Girls
The FFV Victorian Champions League is the Future Talented Development Pathway for players, coach's and referees, combining the best from each region to showcase their talents and provide greater opportunities for advancement. The VCL forms a very important pathway from community (winter) football at Club level through to representative (State) football.  From State representative football, players become eligible for national selection and are more likely to be identified for further football career opportunities.
