MANLY Wolves players and officials are celebrating following their historic promotion to the Sydney AFL Premier Division.
It follows an outstanding season where Leigh Brain guided his team to an undefeated premiership season.
Club president Russell Clack was a happy man on Friday.
``We presented our case and thankfully the powers-that-be were on the same page,'' he said.
``It is a massive moment in the club's history. We have been around since 1969 and always wanted to play at the highest level possible.
``Needless to say plenty of people involved with the club are beaming at the moment.''
Another factor in their elevation was the peninsula's strategic relevance for AFL in Sydney.
``To compete with other codes we needed a pathway for elite players living here,'' Clack added.
``It means we can retain our talented playing roster, who can't wait to take on the best players in Sydney outside the Swans and GWS Giants."
