Elimination Semi Final V Moorebank Sports A ten goal opening quarter saw the Rams pave the way for a preliminary final berth at Henson Park on Sunday. The game ended 11 seconds early after an ambulance had to be called with a serious injury to Penrith's Reece Johnson. Full report on next page. more -->
Round 18 V Southern Power After a seven week break, the Rams finally got a game together. A win would take them to second spot whilst a loss would see them remain in third place at the end of the Home and Away season. Match report on next page more -->
Round 17 V Holroyd Parramatta It can't get more frustrating than yet another forfeit in the Challenge Cup. This weeek, it was the Goanna's turn to pull the plug. Is it something to do with fear? On the upside, many of the team again played up in both senior grades and caused havoc to their older opponents with both grades scoring huge wins with all the 18's having a huge impact. more -->
Round 16 V Manly Wolves The disappointment again as Manly could not produce the minimum numbers so a "scratch" match was played. An even tussle saw the Wolves take the honours with their best being the Rams players who swapped jerseys for the day and dominated proceedings. Manly's coach and parents were appreciative of the sportmanship. Next week should see a "real" game at Blacktown Olympic Park against the Goannas more -->
Round 15 V Pennant Hills Demons After a few weeks off, the boys were keen to get back onto the park when they faced Pennant Hills in round 15. The Demons however, decided that trekking to Penrith to face a potential flogging was not their preferred option and opted to forfeit. Eleven of the disappointed team decided to play seniors and starred in the older competition with Div 4 (10 18's) upsetting premiership hopefuls, UTS. more -->
Round 14 - Bye The bye came at a good time for the Rams with many niggling injuries needing treatment as the run to the final begins. Next week sees the team back at Greygums for their match against Pennant Hills, who they recorded an easy victory against at Earl Holmes earlier in the season. more -->
Round 13 V Sydney University A trek to Erskinville on a Sunday afternoon is probably not the best way to end the weekend, but the Rams made their way to Alan Davidson Oval in their game against premiership hotpots, Sydney Uni/Collingwood. After leading after the first quarter, Uni forged their way to a tough win but the Rams can hold their heads high after a committed performance in the match. Report on next page. more -->
Round 12 V East Coast Eagles Round 12 saw the Rams up against their old foes, East Coast Eagles and a battle royale was expected after their tight round one clash. But an early onslaught paved the way for yet another impressive victory against the raiders. Match report on next page. more -->
Round 11 v Southern Power It was a classic 1 V 2 match when the Rams took on the Shire team at Greygums in Round 11. A win was not to be due to a determined Sharks outfit and a few dodgy calls didn't help the equation. Match report on next page. more -->
Round 10 V Macquarie University An 8:30 AM start at Macquarie University along with rain and a a field that worsened dramatically during the game proved no obstacle for Penrith as they recorded another win to stay on top of the ladder. Match report on next page. more -->
Round 9 V Pennant Hills Demons The Young Rams took the early trek to Ern Holmes Oval in Round 9 when they took on the fourth placed team, Pennant Hiils. It took a few minutes for the team to wipe the sleep out of their eyes as they recorded another impressive win to take them to the premier position on the ladder. Match report on next page. more -->
Round 8 V Moorebank Sports Magpies Round 8 saw both the Rams and Moorebank Sports coming off big wins the previous week but there was no place for complacency. Withy the teams running third and fourth on the ladder a lot was at stake. Match Report on next page more -->
Round 7 V Manly Wolves It is never an enviable round when you have to take the 150 km round trip to Manly to play the Wolves. After eight years it was certainly a more pleasurable trip home. Match report on next page more -->
Round 6 - Bye Round A well deserved rest for the young Rams in round 6. The team now lies in third spot on the ladder with a 4-1 record. Next week football resumes with the trek to the Northern beaches to take on "bogey" team, Manly, who Penrith have not recorded a win against since 2001. more -->
Round 5 V Holroyd-Parramatta Goannas It is not an easy task to back up a week after a thumping loss with any great amount of confidence. It is proably just as daunting for 16-17 year olds to wake up on Saturday morning at daybreak and travel to Quakers Hill for an 8:30 AM match (Be there at 7:30 AM was the coach's instructions) Twenty two players did just that on Saturday when they took on the nomadic Holroyd-Parramatta Goannas. more -->
Round 4 V Sydney Uni The Rams 18's were confident of a good showing against premiership hotpots, Sydney Uni/Collingwood Development Squad, in Round 4 of the competition, but despite some fine moments, could not match it with the semi-professional outfit. more -->
Round 3 V East Coast Eagles The 18's travelled to Windy Village at Richmond on Sunday to take on the East Coast Eagles. In the true spirit of the Anzacs, the boys dug deep and played for each other in scoring a hard fought win. Match report on next page. more -->
Round 2 V Macquarie Uni Warriors The Penrith Rams opened their 2009 campaign under hot conditions at Greygums Oval On Saturday.
The Under 18's recorded a comprehensive victory over Macquarie Uni who had narrowly defeated them in the last round of 2008. Match Report on next page. more -->
Round 1 V Moorebank Sports Magpies For the second week in succession, the Rams came up against Moorebank Sports Magpies in the Round 1 deferred match. The game was expected to be a tough battle with plenty on the line for both teams in regards to playing finals football. But Penrith again proved far superior at the unusually designed Gwawley Park, home of the Southern Power. Match report on next page. more -->
Trial Match V Wyong Magpies-Saturday March 14, 2009 A great rollup by the Rams when they travelled north to take on Wyong Magpies at San Remo. In a match that produced four seasons on two hours, the squad were impressive in their first outing of the year. Special thanks to the Wyong Club for their hard work and kind hospitality in making the day a success under somewhat difficult conditions. For match report, click on "more". more -->
