“Joined the Tigers in 1970 when Weyba Road was just a swamp and paperbark trees. This Noosa Shire foreman was given the job of building a ground there. Trees felled, levels pegged, fill trucked in and the commandeering of a grader over many weekends saw the ground take shape. Ian was a magnificent volunteer as the groundsman, timekeeper, league delegate and was team manager, trainer and selector for many a Sunshine Coast Rep team.”
