Ho Ho Ho & Hi everyone,
We hope you are enjoying the festive season. With that in mind our senior group who have already been training for several months are having a Christmas BBQ at the club next Thursday 20/12/12 around 7pm. The Senior group would like to invite all Junior/Youth players & families to join them. The sausages will be for free & no doubt a good festive feed & fun will be had by all.
Working Bees
The response to our last email asking for help at working bees has been fantastic. Many people have put their hand up to help out. At present we are still waiting on the confirmation of grant money to help fund the boundary fence project. However thanks to volunteer U8s Coach Bob (A carpet layer by trade) we are all go to lay new carpet & lino in the club rooms. To do this we need some volunteers to help him on the 12th & 13th of January. The following Saturday the 19th of January we are trying to organise replacing the wire nets behind the goals. U10s Dad Shane is supplying a Scissor lift, we have the wire, but we will also need some extra man power to help out. If you are available on the 12th & 13th or 19th of January let me know. Press reply or Ring 0411199008. Any amount of time that you can spare would be appreciated greatly. More working bees are planed after this & we will let everyone know once extra dates & projects are organised.
Financial Assistance - Get Started Program
The Springwood AFC has registered our club in this Financial Assistance Program. Hopefully it will help relieve some financial pressure on our members in tough economic times.
Get Started assists children and young people who can least afford or may otherwise benefit from joining a sport or recreation club. Eligible children and young people can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 (GST exclusive), which can be redeemed at a sport or recreation club registered with Get Started.
Who can apply?
The following applicants are eligible for a Get Started voucher: Children and young people from the age of five and under the age of 18 who hold or whose parent guardian or carer holds a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card and are residents of Queensland, Other children or young people identified by two referral agents.
How do I get a voucher?
You will be able to apply for a voucher under the first round of the program from 15 January 2013 to 15 April 2013.
If a child is eligible for Get Started, they are not guaranteed a voucher. The funding will be distributed in two rounds each year on a first come, first serve basis. Once the allocation for each round is exhausted, the program will close and no further vouchers will be offered for that round.

Note: This is a government scheme & the only way you can apply is via the website above. You cannot get vouchers via Puma Staff. So be prepared & log in to the above website first thing on the 15/01/13 and fill out the application form.

Junior/Youth Sign-On days 2013!!
Youth & Junior Sign on day will be 9th & 10th of February 2013. This year it is imperative for as many players to sign on at this day so we can get the teams & number sorted asap. It will be a huge day & we plan to have many give aways, jumping castles...etc. If you wish to pre-sign up before then just reply to this email & once the new online system has been fully developed we will reply with details.
We are all looking forward to an exciting 2013 season and seeing lots of amazing players running around Lowe Oval playing AFL.

On a sad note a much loved puma family with several children who play at our club recently lost their mum to cancer. Several of the involved teams have passed the hat around to try to help out. Wow! The true Puma Community spirit has shown out again! To quote Senior committee member Adrian Wallin " I would like to thank everyone that was able to contribute to this family via the football club. The donations made were significantly greater then we could have imagined & this is a credit to everyone at the club"
