Speedy midfielder Ben Speight will miss one more match after sustaining an ankle injury just before half time during Werribee’s win over Port Melbourne in the VFL on Saturday.
The 22-year old copped a battering, going down in a collision close to goal at the end of the second quarter and also received a boot to the face in the process. But thankfully the rookie has escaped any serious injury according to director of medical services Steve Saunders.
“Ben’s got a minor ankle sprain” Saunders told NMFC.com.au.
“He has a really low level injury and we’ve got him in a boot for a few days but we expect him to be right for next weekend.
“He’ll most likely miss this week because we would prefer to hold him back and set him up for the one after. Ben will be out of the moonboot in about four days and he’ll start being mobilised later this week.”
