Tigers ready to tame the Cats
This Sunday Werribee will host Geelong in Round 7 of the TRUenergy VFL. This is a crunch game for both sides, who currently sit in 8th and 9th spots on the ladder respectively, with 2 wins and three losses.
Werribee - which played in the 2005 Grand Final - has been hit by the mounting injury toll to its AFL affiliate club the Western Bulldogs. This week the teams are not only playing for the four points but also the prestigious K-Rock Cup. Werribee currently holds the cup and is very keen to maintain the status quo, according to General Manager Mark Penaluna.
Our trophy cabinet always looks better when we have the K-Rock Cup in it. With so many ex-Geelong Falcons on our list and players who live in the area, the boys really love the rivalry with the Cats."
As well as being a guest speaker at the President's Lunch, former Geelong great Andrew Bews will award the Damian Drum Medal for best player on the ground.
Greg and Jo from the K-Rock Breakfast show will present the Cup at the end of the game.
