A young and inexperienced Werribee Tigers team played their opening Practice Game on Saturday 1st March @ Skilled Stadium Geelong.
It was not only their first Practice Game, but also, the inaugural time the Werribee players and North Melbourne Football Club players had "come together" to represent the Werribee Football Club.
The Tigers began very well kicking the initial 2 goals through first game player Michael Barlow and North Melbourne forward Nathan Thompson. The remainder of the quarter was won by Geelong, finding the lead by 3 points as quarter time.
The second quarter was very even, shining lights for the Tigers were new recruit Ben Sharp dominating across half back; Ben Davies picking up disposals as will and Leigh Adams damaging at stoppages
The third term was very similar with both back lines on top, although it was becoming increasingly apparent that Geelong would do well to quell the large frame of Nathan Thompson who had 4 goals to 3 quarter time. Others to show promise were local talents Ben Fletcher, Jarrod Mather and Jackson Sheringham. Werribee finished 4 points in arrears at 3 quarter time.
Werribee dominated the final quarter with Nathan Thompson kicking another 3 goals, and Michael Barlow 2 goals, leading the way. Werribee ultimately won running away by 39 points.
Werribee 15 14 104
