The Werribee Football Club is pleased to announce that it is the naming right sponsor of the Western Region Football League under 18 competition for 2008 and beyond.
General Manager Mark Penaluna in making the announcement said the club was very keen to develop and encourage local talent.
" We have such a rich array of talented sportspeople in our own backyard it made sense to the club to throw our support behind the local under 18's. Hopefully many of these young men can take the step from suburban footy to the second best level in the country the VFL"
WRFL CEO John Batty endorses Mark's comments " Our aim is to give people who want to play the game a competition to do so and we also want to see the elite rise and play to their potential. This move by Werribee Football Club is a step in the right direction for both organisations".
Werribee Football Club as part of the sponsorship will invite selected under 18 players to train with the club as part of the Dale Morris squad, and also help in various education programs in conjunction with the City of Wyndham Youth Resource Centre.
The WRFL under 18 competitions will now be known as and play for the Werribee Tigers Cup.
