Shanghai 2010 DBA World Expo Tour - Information and advertisement
- The tour is for one team each of 12 players for both boys and girls born in or after 1991 (under 20's).
- The cost of the tour is approximately $2,200 and will depart Darwin on Friday the 20th August and return Sunday the 29th August.
- Applications are also open for tour staff (see flyer for positions and further info) and they close on Thursday the 26th February at 5pm.
DBA was approached by the NT Government to put together this tour in conjunction with the Darwin/NT promotional plans for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The NT Government has committed $10,000 towards the overall cost of the tour, meaning that the tour will be kept down to approximately $2,200 per player. The tour is aimed at offering a basketball developmental pathway as well as a unique cultural experience.
It is believed that the 2010 Shanghai World Expo will be the biggest Expo ever and one of the biggest events of all-time (as quoted by NT News, "bigger than the Beijing Olympics"). For anyone who has ever been to a world expo (I experienced both Brisbane in 1988 and Japan in 2005) I am sure you would agree they are an amazing experience.
