League Women – Tracy Village Jets v Eagles
The powerhouse Tracy Village Jets jetted past the Eagles to record a dominant 83-43 Grand Final win on Saturday night at the DBA Stadium. The winning margin is the biggest ever in a League Grand Final. Court captain Sam Rioli steered the Jets to their 16th consecutive victory with a season high 28 points. The win was also the 10th Grand Final win in a row since 2011 (including Championship season victories). The Jets flew out to a 25-14 first quarter lead and didn’t let up for the remainder of the clash. The Eagles fell into a big hole in the second quarter when they could only manage 4pts to 18 from the Jets. Rioli (15.5ppg) was backed up by Erin Geer (12), Kylie Duggan (11 @ 20ppg) and Tania Dhu (9). Molly Althouse (6.8ppg) for the second game in a row led the Eagles with 17 and she had help from Trish Graham (12.6ppg) with 14. Since the 2012 Challenge season the Jets women have won 166 games and lost just 9 through 9 seasons of competition.

Men
League Men – Eagles v Lightning
The Lightning men finally walked away from a Championship season as the victors rather than the runners-up. They gave the Eagles a dose of their own by knocking off the Birds 101-83. The Eagles held a bit of favouritism heading into the match as they had thumped the Lightning the last two times they met by more than 20pts each time. However, the Lightning were pumped up enough for this encounter to flip the results their way. Alex Kisselev (27.9ppg) and Craig Martin (27.3ppg) worked their magic in the keyway for the Lightning while their defense held the Eagles main threat, Joseph Johnson (30ppg), pretty much in check as he finished with just 13 points, well below his average. Scores were even after one quarter at 27 apiece, but the Lightning grabbed a 9pt lead by halftime 55-46. The third quarter was played even again with each side scoring 22 and then the Lightning took another leap forward by outscoring the Eagles 24-16 for the final margin. This was the first championship the men have ever won in the DBA. Kisselev wound up with a team and game high 31, Martin 25, Cameron Bailey & Steven Ting 10 each. Joseph Prophet (18.6ppg) led the Eagles with 26, Jarrod Sheppard 21, Reece Turner 19 and Johnson 13.
