Sharks Development Squad
Welcome to the Rockingham Coastal Sharks development squad for the 2013 season.
Congratulations on being identified to be part of our development squad. This is a direct result of your efforts as a player during this past season. We would also like to add that the journey has only just begun.
Our aim, as part of the coaching and development staff at the Sharks is to improve your skill set as a rugby league player. We will focus on many aspects of rugby league including technique & skills development, game strategy, on field structure, strength and conditioning nutrition, discipline as well as specific positional training.
Please be aware the Sharks development squad will require a high level of commitment with professionalism mindset from yourself. Under the direction of the newly appointed Sharks senior head coach for 2013 and supported by the junior development staff. A group of our Sharks development squad players will train with our senior group during the expected 6 week pre-season period which will then lead on to all players participating in a mentoring program with appointed contracted senior players throughout the season. This activity will also be supported by dedicated training sessions for the entire squad.
After attending an induction weekend on Saturday the 11th and Sunday 12th training will consist of Tuesday and Thursday afternoon sessions with the senior playing group and coaches.
At this time we are also working with the WA rugby league with the aim of taking the Rockingham Coastal Sharks development squad to Geraldton for a weekend in late February or early March to play possibly two exhibition games over one weekend.
All Geraldton trip detail are to be confirmed and there will be a cost associated with this club initiative.
You will be expected to attend a briefing session at the clubhouse on Tuesday the 8th of January at 5.30pm
