Junior Presentation Day Report
Our 2012 Season Junior Presentation Day was recently held at the Botany Aquatic Centre & our Roving Reporter was there.
For those up early enough, Sunday the 9th of December the day of our Junior Presentation dawned fine & sunny but it wasn’t to last. At about 9.00am a southerly buster blew up the coast.
Later that day it transpired that the Australian Open Golf Championship at the nearby Lakes course had play suspended for many hours as the winds tore up hospitality marquees & television towers !!
The presentations commenced with the Mini League teams with Rabbitohs players Jason Clark & Adam Reynolds both products of the South Sydney Junior League on hand along with Charlie Rabbit to have their pictures taken with the kids. As they had to attend a benefit function that afternoon we are most appreciative of the guys being on hand.
This years presentation item - the stylish Maroubra Lions RLFC hoodies proved to be a masterstroke as upon each player being presented one, the plastic bag was quickly discarded & the hoodie put straight on to ward off the cool conditions !
From the general feedback the timetable of team presentations were well received as you knew exactly when your team was to have its gear & trophies awarded which was great especially for those who were coming from Nippers or other summer sports. Our thanks to everyone for their co-operation in ensuring everything ran to plan.
It is worth highlighting that events such as the Junior Presentation just do not happen by themselves. It takes much planning & the many volunteers who step forward to assist ensure all goes smoothly.

The 2012 Season & its formalities have now come to an end & we look forward to the challenges of the 2013 Season which is only a few months away.
On behalf of the President & Committee of the Maroubra Lions RLFC we thank everyone involved both on & off the field on another successful year which was the club’s 60th in the South Sydney Junior League.
