Presidents Welcome To Season 2013 Letter
Well hello once again to all the families, players & supporters of the Mighty Tigers!
Firstly, thank you for choosing Bloomfield Junior Rugby League as your child’s footy club for 2013. Welcome back to our previous players and a big welcome to our families, it’s great to see player numbers looking so healthy again this year. Our Club continues to grow bigger & bigger every year.
I like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to our new families and tell you all a little bit about our Club and what we stand for.
This is my 9th year at the Club, like most of you guys my first experience with Bloomfield JRL was when Donna and I first signed up our eldest son Jake in the Under 9s. For the first couple of years at the club I got myself involved by helping out the Coach at training and generally helping out around the Club like most parents at Bloomfield always do. When our second bloke Tom signed on 2 years later in the Under 7s I took on the coaching job for his team for the next five years before taking on the Under 16s last year. I have one more son Ben who began playing Under 7s at the age of 4 and is currently playing in the Under 11s this season.
I also took an interest in the operational side of the Club in 2004 and joined the committee in 2005 as the clubs secretary. I did that role for seven years and then took over as the Club President for the 2012 and now the 2013 season.
As for the Club, I think you will find first impressions are what they seem!
It’s well known now right across the Central West that we are a very professional Club. I personally believe we are the most professional (but I’m a little biased).
I believe we have the best facilities & the best coaches & player development programs in Group 10, our results on the field with our competition teams speak volumes about our development as to the huge numbers of representative players we produce each year and being the Club of choice for over 230 players, we are one of the largest regional Clubs in the Western area. Being a big Club isn’t just luck, it’s the result as what we do as a Club.
Our hard work in the past years in Building our Club to what it is today was rewarded last year by us being granted the 2012 Grand Finals. We passed the test of hosting this event with flying colours and used this opportunity to show the whole Group 10 Executive and competing teams how professional and proud we are of our Club.
We are very protective of our Clubs image and culture so over the last few years we have formulated many of our Clubs policies to ensure the Club and its culture continues to prosper for many years to come. All of our Clubs policies can be viewed on our new Clubs website page along with most other information about the Club in general.
All of the hard work put into our Club by previous Committees, Coaching Staff, Sponsors and mums and dads over the previous years has all contributed to the building the Clubs really great culture that we all enjoy here today. Our committee has a strong desire to maintain our family friendly culture at our Club, we have taken strong steps in the past to address any people that have not acted in the best interest of our Club and we will not hesitate to do it again.
Please keep in mind, we are not a business, we are a Club, help out where you can, everyone you see helping run the Club - Coaches, Managers, FAO,s Water Runners, Ground Managers, Canteen Helpers, Committee Members, etc are all just mums and dads volunteering their time for the kids. So get involved and become an active member of your Childs Club.
And finally please do your best to support the businesses that generously sponsor our Club, without our Club sponsors we wouldn’t exist; it’s as simple as that!
Once again welcome to our Family Club, I look forward to meeting everyone throughout the season and working with all members of our great Club to maintain and grow all the good things that are Bloomfield Junior Rugby League.
And please remember:
Volunteers don’t get paid because their useless, it’s because their Priceless!!
Yours in League
Club President (2012-2013)
