JCU A Grade V's PNG Rabaul Gurias
If you’re looking for some different footy to watch then head over to Joe Baker Field (University grounds) Saturday night and watch the University Saints take on Gurias (PNG team) It would be great to get a big crowd there to support our local team and our PNG visitiors.
The James Cook University Saints Rugby League Club is thoroughly looking forward to taking on the Gurias at their home ground on Saturday night. We are promoting the game broadly through all local Townsville media and our supporters, so hopefully there will be a good crowd to watch the game at Joe Baker Field.
Saints coach Tony Martin said “We’re expecting a very physical and fast game from the Gurias. The team is very excited about playing the Gurias and are preparing for a tough trial”
It is wonderful for Townsville to be hosting a rugby league team from Papua New Guinea. A sporting link through a game of rugby league is an ideal way to bring the two rugby league crazy regions together.
Trial Game Details are as follows;
4:30pm JCU Res Grade V's Army
6:00pm JCU A Grade V's PNG Gurias
Gates open at 3:30pm. Full Bar and Canteen will be operating. New Seating has been installed at the ground to accomodate spectators.
