Born in Dalby Q, only four months after the bombing of Darwin, so I am lucky to have survived the war. Saw my first live game of Aussie Rules, in 1974 at Milingimbi. Sandflies beat the marchflies, but only just.
Joined St Mary's as a bingo worker at the Greek Hall in July 1984. Worked bingo as a caller back, seller of instant bingo and a caller. Have never been a seller, and have no desire to learn the trade.
In working with teams, I have been a jumper washer, time keeper, manager, runner (for 2 quarters only), water boy (twice).
On the committee for twelve years, and vice president for nine of them.
I think that I hold the record for the most successful League Team Manager at 7 out of 8. After my only loss as a league team manager, I was transferred to the position of bingo caller.
