Tom Boyd AIS/AFL Academy Update

The members of the Level Two AIS/AFL Academy program recently spent the week training with an AFL club, learning the standards expected at the elite level.

Representing the Eastern Ranges, Tom Boyd spent the week training at Collingwood.

At 17 years of age, Tom led the TAC Cup goal kicking last year as a bottom age player, and also represented Vic Metro at the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, which led to his selection in the Second Tier of the AIS/AFL Academy scholarship program for 2013

Before training during the week, Tom spoke to the rest of the Eastern Ranges squad about what he had learned in his week at Collingwood, the challenges associated with making the transition between TAC Cup and AFL levels & the importance of having a professional attitude to the TAC Cup.

Tom and the rest of the Tier Two squad will travel to Europe in April this year under AIS/AFL Academy Coach Michael O’loughlin.
