Warrawee Park Oval, home of the Oakleigh Chargers Football Club, is undergoing a ground lighting upgrade. Two new light towers will be installed at the Drummond Street end of the ground, which will provide competition standard lighting (100 Lux) to one end of the ground.
The lighting upgrade will substantially improve training conditions for players, coaches and staff and significantly contribute to the delivery of professional development programs. The upgrade will also allow the Oakleigh Chargers to expand competition and development opportunities.
The commencement of this project has been made possible by the support of the City of Monash, AFL Victoria and Club sponsors and is estimated to be complete by April 2012.
It is hoped that this is the first stage of a Lighting Project that will in the future, see a further two new light towers installed at the grandstand end of the ground, giving us the capacity to play competition games under lights.
