The Oakleigh Chargers travelled to Wangaratta on Sunday to face the Murray Bushrangers. While missing out on the four point for a win, the Chargers put in a strong challenge. The Chargers fielded a relatively inexperience squad with a number of players making their TAC Cup debuts.
The coaching staff was impressed with the resiliency of the team, after going in at half time behind by 28 points. The Chargers fought back strongly in the third quarter to trail by just seven points at the final change. The Bushrangers kicked clear in the last to win by 35 points.
Nick Snibson kicked two goals as did Jordan Collopy, who among the Chargers best. Ryan Exon, Sam Raru, Sam Collins, Lucas Forato and Dylan Vizzarri were also in the Chargers best.
The final score was Murray Bushrangers 16.12.108 to Oakleigh Chargers 10.13.73.
