Oakleigh Charger Football congratulates its Captain Ryan Exon on winning the 2012 James Honey Medal. Ryan capped off a great year by polling 95 votes to win by 13 votes from runner up Sam Collins. Ryan and Sam were 83 votes and 82 votes respectively after the home and away games with the two being split only by the finals series. Jackson Macrae who was announced as player of the Finals Series, flew home in the vote count to finish third on 68 votes.
The James Honey Vote Count was the highlight of the Oakleigh Chargers Presentation Night held at the Mulgrave Country Club on Friday night. Over 180 people attended and relived the TAC Cup Grand Final. Greater Western Sydney player Toby Greene and Port Melbourne player Mitch Wooffindin were special guests as a number of awards were presented on the night.
Awards winners were, 2012 Coaches Award Jason Ashby, Backline Award Dylan Vizzarri, Midfield Award Jordan Collopy, Forward line Award Ned Walmsely, Head Trainers Award Sam Collins, Viv Buckley Award Ryan Exon.
Also acknowledged were our State players, Kristian Jaksch, Jackson Macrae, Luke McDonald, Jack Billings, Caleb Vearing, Jack Williams, our All Australian Team players, Luke McDonald and Jack Billings, and our TAC Cup Team of the Year representatives, Kristian Jaksch, Luke McDonald, and Ryan Exon.
A special Presentation was also made to the 2012 TAC Cup Premiership Team with the Cup was presented to the whole Chargers Squad by the Chairman of the Oakleigh Chargers major sponsor Bendigo Bank, Dennis Tarrant.
