Once again Our Club opened it's doors to the East Ringwood and Vermont Junior Football Clubs yesterday to enable well over 250 boys and girls to participate in practice matches. The age groups ranged from under 9's to under 16's. It was a very successful day and the manner in which the Clubs used and looked after our facilities ie, ovals, change rooms and surrounds etc, was a credit to both clubs.
Even though we were a "bit under done" with numbers helping out; financially the day was a huge success with Barry Jess as our "point of contact" for both Junior Football Clubs and with Lou Belli in charge of the canteen our Club was able to clear approximately $1500 profit from canteen sales and the sausage sizzle.
We are indebted to the following members who turned up to assist : Lou Belli, Dave Whitehead, Aaron Kinghorn, Rob Chapman, Gary Davies, Adam Amato and Barry Jess.
We have another important fund raising activity scheduled next week-end and we require support, preferably from members who have been unable to assist with the other two fundraisers; to ensure that this fundraiser is also successful.
- On Easter Sunday 4th April we are managing the "Community Fundraising BBQ" facility at Bunnings on Middleborough Road in Box Hill between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm. We require (must have) at least a total of 15 volunteers to help out (3 hour shifts) between these times. If you can volunteer your help with this fundraiser please advise Barry Jess immediately on Mob. 0418 314849 or bjess@bigpond.net.au .
Please give this fund raiser some thought and don't be misled!!!. If you honestly believe this appeal for help "from your club" is not specifically targeted at you, then you are kidding yourself. Irrespective of what role you have in our Club "there are no exceptions" for any club member not being expected to help out.
