Old Haileybury Amateur Football Club is one of the top Amateur Football Clubs competing in the well respected VAFA. The team consists mainly of Ex Haileybury students and a good sprinkling of others (some with AFL experience) keen on being part of a fun club playing quality A grade standard of football. In 2009 the Senior Coach is ex StKilda and Melbourne player Jamie Shannahan.
Old Haileybury won the 2006 A grade premiership - its first after a steady improvement over the years since inception (1961).
Old Haileybury (known as Haileybury or the Bloods) field 3 teams ie 1sts (B Grade in 2009), reserves and under 19. We also have a keen interest in the progress of all the school teams from Year 7 through to Year 12.
The Under 19s are a very important part of our club being the breeding ground of our future success. The Under 19s provide the link and natural progression for school footballers and their mates.
The club is fully supportive and also provides a home base for those talented footballers who want to try their luck in the top echelon of football. They can "have a red hot go" knowing they have a great support base of mates who they can return to when the time is right.
New players are welcome - just come down to training any Tuesday or Thursday during the season or contact the President or the Secretary.
