First ever girls team
We very proud to announce our first ever girls team. We are thrilled to announce that the coach of the girls team will be Kane Grbac. Kane is a former Rookies player and current Gisborne Senior Player (although he is having this year off due to a recent shoulder reconstruction). Kane has just completed his Physiotherapy qualifications and will be a great asset to our coaching group.
The Girls Team will compete in the Ballarat Youth Girls Competition and caters for Girls aged 13 to 17 as at 1st January 2013. The proposed fixture only has our team travelling to Ballarat twice, with 3 games at home, 3 at Riddells Creek and 4 in Bacchus Marsh. There are modified rules with only 15 players on the ground, stricter rules around tackling and only allowing one bounce.
This is a fantastic initiative for our club and one that fills a gap in girls sport within Gisborne. To celebrate, we have designed a great new playing jumper for the team and we are now seeking girls to be part of our inaugural team and form history within our club. If you know of any girls that would like to play please ask contact Colin Rodgers on colinrodgers@crediflex.com or better still come along to our Family Day on Sunday 17th February at Sankey Reserve to register, meet Kane and see the new jumper design.

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
