Yarrambat Basketball Club provides children, from ages 6 to 17 the opportunity to play basketball within the Diamond Valley Basketball Association - Junior Domestic competition. As a club that has been established since 1981 we aim to provide all junior players with a positive basketball experience with an emphasis on participation and enjoyment, whilst providing a pathway for those players looking to progress to a higher and more competitive standard.

The competition is divided into two seasons each year. Autumn season generally runs from February to June, whilst the Spring season is July to December. Age groups start at under 8, which caters for 6 and 7 year olds, then under 10's, under 12's, under 14's, under 16's and finally under 18's. To be eligible for an age group the player must not have turned that age on or before the cut-off date for each season, in the year the season commences. Cut-off date for Autumn season is 30 June, and for Spring season is 31 December. Each season is approximately 15 or 16 matches, and if the team is eligible for finals may include 1 to 3 additional matches.

Teams play one competition match in any week, with girls on weeknights and boys on Saturdays. Training is conducted on weeknights and is usually 45 to 60 minutes once per week.

Throughout each year the Club runs basketball clinics, which are a fun event for beginning players to be involved in and to see whether basketball is for them. These clinics are usually free and conducted at Yarrambat Primary School.
