The winner of the Curra Swans Sign On Day raffle is Liam Archer.

Liam wins 4 tickets to the NAB Cup match at Tony Ireland Stadium on March 2nd between the Gold Coast Suns and the North Melbourne Kangaroos.

2nd prize of a club polo and training singlet went to Jake Ward and third prize of club shorts and socks went to Paul Adami.

All winners can contact Club Secretary Bob Hillier to claim their prizes.

The raffle was held on the Club’s sign on day for all who paid their season’s fees on the day.

Sign on day was a great success with many players across all grades signing on for the 2013 season. Some familiar faces mixed with some new ones and made for a good day for the Club.

Senior and Colts training has begun on Tuesday and Thursday nights under the enthusiastic guidance of Adam McDonald. 2011 League Best & Fairest, Club Best & Fairest and Players Player, McDonald has taken charge of the senior playing group for 2013 and will be assisted by 2 time Premiership coach Peter Pyle and 2010 coach Darrin Gwynne. Former player Glen Clark returns to the Swans to take on the Reserve Grade coaching role and 2010 Reserve Grade coach, Leo Lahey also returns to take charge of the Colts playing group, Together this group will form a fresh but experienced coaching staff that the club is excited to have on board to move the Club forward in a positive and professional manner.

CLUB SONG

Its a grand old flag
Its a high flying flag
Its them emblem for me and for you
Its the emblem of
The team we love
The team of the red, white and blue
Every heart beats true for the red, white and blue
As we sing this song for you
What do we sing
Should old acquaintances be forgot
Keep your eye on the red, white and blue

BLOOD OF A SWAN

Heart of a LION, Blood of a SWAN

By Shane Lindgren.

When times seem tough

And pain runs through you

When you think you’ve had enough

And your teammates think so too

Keep you heads held high

And don’t play for the tie

Give that extra bit of effort

Go in hard, go in strong

Even though the quarter may seem long.

Think about what you get out of it, singing the team song.

Show the heart of a lion

And bleed the blood of a swan

Because of it all

You will be the ones that stand tall

No need for glory, no need for fame

We do it for the game

We do it for the club

We are loyal to the name

Full of fighting spirit

Come on boys, let them here it

The Curra Swans legacy is one of a kind

If you don’t see that you must be blind

It’s a grand old flag, yes indeed

This is our creed.
Curra boys of old, Curra boys of new

By god there is a few

Curra isn’t just a club

It’s a family

The tin shed is a house

Full of memories, full of flags

My Curra blood bleeds strong and true

Of the red, the white, and the blue

Nothing could ever replace that

The heart and soul of the Curra Swans crew.
