Round 6 Review

Members and Guests were welcomed for our Pink Ribbon day to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer. They were greeted by Clubrooms adorned with Pink and the promise of an entertaining afternoon. A three course lunch was served by Chief Monty, while guest were entertained by local self-styled socialite Lady Uppity Crust. Ladies and Sponsors were very supportive raising nearly $1000 for charity.

Many thanks to all that assisted with running this successful event, especially Serena for organizing just about everything and local businesses who donated products. Please support these businesses who support our club, Old Hades Bakery Dandenong, Gardeners Gate Nursery, Perfect Party solutions, Lady Uppity Crust, Mission foods, The Dandenong Plaza and Crown Business solutions.

The 3rds made the trip to Crib Point, playing Cerberus on home turf was always going to be a tough assignment, and it was, the Navy boys were just too good wining comfortably. The Seniors and Reserves played host Mt Waverley, the Reserves put in one of their best efforts this year to come away with a win, while the Seniors were attempting to consolidated 3rd spot and really set the tone for the remainder of the year. We wasted opportunities early which left us a couple of points down at the first break, while Mounts more efficient use of the ball up forward kept them a couple of goals up for most of the day, except for the last 5minutes when Mounts kicked several unanswered goals. This loss serves as a timely reminder of just how competitive Div 3 is and that if you don’t bring your best game you won’t win. We don’t have to rebuild our season just yet, but we do have recognise our strengths and play to them, rather than getting drawn into the opposition’s style of play

This week we are again split with out Thirds playing Mt Waverley away and our Seniors & Reserves playing Sandown away, it's not as far for our supporters to travel this week so if you can get to support our Thirds at Mt Waverley before you head to Sandwon that would be great.
