Shadows Review- Round 18 Victory for Doggies in last H&A match

SENIORS – Sponsored by Merkon & Junto Café

With third spot up for grabs, the match against Cheltenham was always going to be a challenge. The big difference this time is that our list is now healthy and the contest for spots is as keen as you could ask for. With Heater running out for the 200th time and the respect that he has within the group, losing was never an option. Willow lead the way as he so often does and had great support from O-Dog and Gilbo. Roy was at his coaching best to have the boys pulling away in the last term against the breeze for a 19 point victory. But with the Home & Away games now behind us we turn our full attention to Chelsea Heights. Ahhh, Finals footy, don’t you love it.

Amazing what can be achieved when it matters most, our win represented an 11 goal turnaround from our round 9 clash. Prewy played his role in his 307th match and showed he still has all the tricks. Tommy Heagney really applied himself after dropping back to the two’s and gave the selectors a timely reminder of what he is capable of. Every player needs to make every post a winner from here on in as we face off against a quality rival in Chelsea Heights. Darren Rogers’ niece Jaymie Rogers from Sportsbet.com has us at 4 to 1… get on board!!!

With a growing injury list and no incentive to go higher on the ladder, our last game was always going to be difficult. So we push that from our minds and look forward. As a couple of great coaches once said, “In life as it can be in football, sometimes you come to a cross-road. You can either step up, or step down” What are you boys going to do this week? Accept the challenge?

The coaches know you can do it, they have seen you do it… So Don’t think, Don’t act, DO!!

DO something, at least you can come off the ground saying “I did this or I did that”
