Match Report Morwell
The committee, players and supporters of Northcote Park. F. C wish to thank the Morwell football and Netball club for the game and the hospitality they showed us on Saturday we had a magnificent day and night.
On Saturday we travelled to Morwell for our 1st practice match for 2015 under Harmit Singh, the ground was in perfect condition and the club rooms were 1st class. The senior side had a few new faces, a few old faces and a couple of young ones. Harmit proved he was the right man for the job as he controlled the game from the back line. Wayne Schultz work tirelessly to cover a lot of the ground to set up the forwards. Sutton, Barnes-Webb and Adams fitted in well too. Still a long way to go but all in all it was a good day. Scores were N.P 11-13-79 to Morwell 9-4-58.
The reserves played 3 quarters as well as the 19s due to time factor, down on numbers and some of the boys unable to make the journey. The ones that did play are better for it as the drills we have practiced over the pre season came into effect. There will be a lot of pressure this year on the seniors to perform because the boys in the 2s are quite capable of stepping up to task. The boys won easy.
19s were the first ones on this magnificent surface and did not disappoint under the command of new coach Andy Hill. Jackson Bailey, Daniel Costanzo and Janus Waldron kicking 2 apiece in the 1st quarter. We dropped off in the last 2 quarters due to the lack of fitness for some of the lads. Now we have had a taste, lets all get to training and give it our best because if you are fair dinkum Hilly will take you a long way.
