The Prospect Hawks Junior Football Club has appointed senior TSL player, Daniel Trevena, to co-coach the U16 team in 2013.
Daniel Trevena plays with South Launceston in the TSL and was runner up in the Club’s best and fairest award in 2012. As well as playing senior football for South Launceston Daniel Trevena has also played for South Adelaide in the SANFL and represented Tasmania in the AFL U18 Nationals.
Daniel’s father is well known Tasmanian and AFL development coach, Darren Trevena, who has undertaken roles at Port Adelaide and Brisbane Lions. This will be Daniel’s first foray into coaching and as he lives in Prospect is looking forward to working with the local youth players. Daniel will be mentored by one of Prospect’s Level 2 accredited coaches, Daniel Smedley.
The Prospect Hawks have appointed the following accredited coaches for 2013:
U16 – co-coached by Daniel Trevena and Daniel Smedley.
U15 – Michael Walker.
U14 – Andrew Dikkenberg.
U13 – Darren Perry.
U12 – Chris West.
U11 – Pacer Markham.
U10 – Nick Hayes.
The Club will also offer U9s and AFL Auskick in 2013.
The Prospect Hawks will formally commence their 2013 season with a registration day on Sunday 24th February at Prospect Park from 12pm till 2pm. All children aged 8 to 16 years old can register to play AFL football.

The Prospect Hawks will field teams in all age divisions of the NTJFA in 2013 and still have playing vacancies for all age groups. New junior players in primary school are particularly encouraged to get involved.
Children may register throughout the year and training commences over the next fortnight for all age groups. The NTJFA season commences on 7 April.
The Hawks are expecting to have more than 300 players register in 2013.
