Mothers Day at EDSFC
Last Sunday 13th May, Essendon Doutta Stars & Aberfeldie held our annual Pink Day fundraiser for cancer research. The day is in honour of Xavier Krikori from EDSFC and Malcolm Toy from Abers, who both tragically passed away from cancer. Xavier when he was just 17 years old after playing in 4 EDSFC junior premierships.
It was great to have all of the players and parents at EDSFC on this day with our division 1 and division 4 sides playing at the home accross both ovals.
The Mothers Day morning tea in the social rooms was a great success.
Thanks to all who helped organise the day and we were able to raise $1300.00 for cancer research.
Thanks from the Northern Territory!

Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club is very pleased to be working with the Bathurst Island, Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory to promote the great game of AFL.
For those of you who were not aware we have sent to the Northern Territory communities a large number of "out of date" Essendon DSFC stock including football jumpers, hoodies, singlets and socks. It is very difficult for the Aboriginal community to get hold of these sorts of clothes and as such EDSFC has helped out with our donations.
As you can see from the photos, the stock has arrived in N.T and brings smiles to the children's faces as they enjoy their new footy clothes.

Well done to Bruce Runting and Mike MacDonough who got this project off the ground. As you can see from the photos, the stock arrived at Murrupurtiyanuwu Catholic School, Bathurst Island in N.T and brought smiles to the children's faces as they enjoy their new footy clothes. We acknowledge the kind assistance of Toll Air Express and Hardy Aviation NT for transporting the gear to Bathurst Island
We are still trying to assist this community by looking for old footies that can also be donated. At this time these kids are kicking around empty Coke bottles for footy games, and we would ask all of our members and the wider community to assist us help further by donating any old footballs, or footy boots that you may no longer be using.
