Congratulations to our WGJAFC Junior Grand Final Umpires
All of our BJ Umpires had Grand Finals Appointments. Zac Caughey – Field Umpire Under 12 Div 4 Luke Andersen – Goal Umpire Under 14 Div 4 Mackinley Chandler – Boundary Umpire Under 13 Div 1 Chris Jardine – Boundary Umpire Under 13 Div 1 & Goal Umpire Under 16 Div 2 Chris also did a Field Umpire for Under 12 Div 5. (Late call up). Getting a Grand Final Appointment has to be earned so with all the Wilston Grange Boys getting an appointment it was a fantastic effort. Congratulations Boys – continue to do yourselves proud. But the season doesn’t end there – As the recipient of the “BJ Umpires Junior Coaches Award”, Chris Jardine will be going to Melbourne Umpire a half time game during the 2011 Grand Final on October, 1. The award Chris received at the Umpires Presentation was not only for BJ but he is the Green Shirt Umpire of the Year and is the QLD representative to umpire a Half Time Grid Game at the MCG on Grand Final Day. In addition he will participate in the Grand Final Parade through Melbourne and a number of other AFL Activities over the weekend. Green Shirts are first year umpires – this is part of a National Umpiring Program – which the AFLBJ are participating in.
