Volunteers of the Week 2012

Week 1- Nicole Trott - Ground marking

Nicole has been preparing the ground for competition. Along with coaching and running the Youth Girls competition.

Week 2 - Cameron Potter- Ground marking

Cameron has been assisting with ground marking, along with his duties as coach of the U14s.

Week 3- Dan/Marty Payne- Managing the Canteen

Dan and Marty are opening up the Canteen early on game days, often with the young kids having breakfast at the ground. Dan is back at the ground late in the day to close up.

Week 4- Clare Stevens- Running the canteen.

Clare ran the canteen during round 4 for an extended period, even when she had no children playing at home.

Week 5- Stephen McGilivray- Club Legend- Assistance with senior kids

If you look around you will see Stephen McGilivray assisting with ground management, umpiring, team management or any other job that needs doing. Stephen has made a considerable effort to the club and continues to during the 2012 season.

Week 6 Garry Quinn- Undertaking Ground Manager Role

Garry regularly runs the ground management duties in the morning of game days. Gary has made a significant contribution towards game day.

Week 7- Cooney Family- Undertaking Ground Manager/Canteen for Youth Girls

The Cooney family a key part of the success of the Youth Girls. The Cooney family regularly manage the canteen and assist with the ground management.

Week 8- O'Toole Family- Undertaking groundmanager role for Youth Games.

The O'Toole Family (Mick, Tia, and Kurtis) for their efforts to meet the Grounds Manager Role particularly during the U16 when Mick assists the team as Runner while Callum is playing. Tia and Kurtis then manage the grounds for the remainder of the day.

Week 9- Tony / Leanne Spain- Champion Goal Umpire

Tony regularly undertakes the goal umpiring duties for the U9s and U14s and spent the rest of the day with Leanne Spain assisting as ground manager.

Week 10- Mark Houghton-Smith- Club Legend

Mark has been involved in the junior club since its inception. Mark as the U18s coach contributes greatly to the development of the clubs older players.

Week 11- Judi Goodwin- U11s manager

Club legend Judi Goodwin has been a long time contributor towards the Kiama JAFL. This year Judi has contributed to the management of the U11s team, along with coach Matt. Thanks Judi for all your efforts.

Week 12- Susan Glazier- Canteen set up

The Club volunteer of the week goes to Susan Glazier. Susan has been involved in the club for two years. Last year Susan made a significant contribution to the social club, and in 2012 Susan has often been the first person at the ground on game day to set up the canteen. Thank you so much Susan for your contribution towards the kids and the club.

Week 13-Annette McHugh - Financial controller

The Club volunteer of the week goes to Annette McHugh. Annette spends many hours organising the clubs finances.

Week 14- Adam Moloney- Field Marking

The Club volunteer of the week goes to Adam and David Moloney. Adam our U9s super star assisted his father David and Simon Williams with the marking of the gound on Saturday Morning. Great work Adam as all lines and ground were well prepared.

Week 15- William Lourey and Dylan Potter- Ground set up

The Club volunteer of the week goes to Williams Lourey and Dylan Potter who came down early on Sunday to set the grounds up. Both William and Dylan impressed morning ground managers Aaron Shelley and Simon Williams. Well done boys for assisting the club on Sunday morning.

Week 16- Kiama Power Coaches

The Club volunteer of the week goes to the many Kiama Power Coaches and assistant coaches for putting in many hours to assist the kids to play AFL footy on Saturday and Sundays.

Semi Finals- Jo Stewart

The Club volunteer of the week goes to Jo Stewart. Jo has made a considerable effort towards the club over the past two years in her role as secretary. This week Jo organised the rosters, pirzes for the raffles, did canteen duty, and assisted with packing up the ground on Sunday. Thank you Jo.

Preliminary Finals- Dave Cowgill and Tim Webb

The Club volunteers of the week goes to Dave Cowgill and Tim Webb. Both Dave and Tim are regulars at the u12s games and the preliminary finals were no exception. Both Dave and Tim assist Paul Roach with the training and game day preperations for the U12s. Well done Tim. Well done Dave.

 

Grand Final/ presentation- Kerryn and Chris Howitt

 

The Club volunteers of the week goes to Kerryn and Chris Howitt for their contribution to the club over many years. Between them both the have held almost every position on the committee for many years (Vice President, assisted with coaching and cordinators for the following: apparel, sponsoship, canteen and social committee). Over the past month both Kerryn and Chris organised the management of trophies for the presentation day. Thank you very much.
