Friday Night Footy is BACK!
This Friday night 1st November
Where: Barden Ridge Oval
Time 6:45 PM
Great to see some more players and parents out there last week. Lets see if we can get the numbers up again this week.
We would really like to see our older age group players U/14 and up come up for a game.
And if we get enough of our younger age players they will have a game for themselves.
A great deal of fun is had by all. C'mon ladies we know there are a few of you wanting a kick, we'd love to see you up there this week and the coming weeks.
Welcome all parents, boys and girls.
Join the likes of leaping Lou Maratheftis,
centre half back super star Ben Jones but to name a few.
Future stars like Conor "hard at the ball" Aggett, Curtis "catch me if you can" Horbury, Tom "Swan" Jackson.
Now that the junior footy season is over and we know you will be missing it shortly, the Bangor Tigers would like to resurrect Friday Night Recreational Footy.
Friday Night Footy is open to all Tiger Cubs from U/12’s up and includes brothers, sisters, Mums, Dads, friends and family – the more the merrier.
The rules are the same as Recreational Footy / AFL Nines (but much more flexible with us at the Tigers – No tackling…just like touch footy but for AFL). We’ll explain more on the night – don’t worry its easy!
It is a great way to start your weekend and a fun, social way to meet new people. It’s also a great way for our junior players to keep up their skills and fitness for next season (not to mention some fitness for the rest of us).
So, get your family and friends together for a kick around this off season.
Time: 6.45pm till whenever we get tired (which in some cases isn’t very long)
Date: Friday 11th October onwards
Place: Barden Ridge Oval (home of the Tigers)
For further details you can contact Lou on 0409 456 215 or Michael on 0425 249 600.
Ben Jones Team of the Decade
Seaford Football Club, part of the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League, based in Melbourne's south east, recently announced their Team of the Decade for 2000-2009.
Our U/12's Coach, Ben Jones, was selected in this team at Centre Half Back.
Ben played at Seaford from 2003 to 2005, representing the club in 51 games. Seaford had a very successful period during the 2000's, playing in many finals and winning premierships in 07, 08 and 09.
Ben said, "It's a huge honour to be selected in the Team of the Decade, named alongside many outstanding footballers who played during this time. Seaford is a wonderful club, who enjoyed a very successful era in this decade, so I feel extremely humble about being selected." Ben attended the Seaford F.C. - Team of the Decade awards night recently in Melbourne.
