Volunteer Positions

Junior Grade Convenors (including Manager)

  • Assist with pulling together the participation teams
  • Support recruitment of team coaches and managers
  • Liaise with team managers to ensure they have all they require in terms of fixture information
  • Coordinate the collection of results each week (this may be online this season)
  • Liaise between NSU committee representatives and managers to ensure good communication
  • Manage the grades prize giving event
  • Support fundraising initiatives

Team Managers (Juniors)

  • Assist convenors with team communication and issues resolution
  • Prepare and distribute the draw and snack roster.
  • Receive and distribute gear as required.
  • Notify the team of playing and coaching times, and advise on fixture changes and cancellations.
  • Support the coach with team communication and rostering as required
  • Report results to convenor or online (tbc)
  • Guidance and mentoring of team members.

 Volunteer Parent Coaches

Volunteer Parent Coaches will be required for all Participation teams.  This will be supported by Grade level skills school should the players chose select additional training.   Please register yourself on the NSU database as a member checking "Coach" under interests and indicating "assistance" and we will be in contact with you in the next few weeks.

Paul will be available every Tuesday at 5pm at Bayswater to help with any coaching issues or to conduct a training session with you.  Along-with this there will be a series of coaching clinics (we know we didn't get this right last year and are working hard to ensure that it happens this year!)

Responsibilities include:

  • Agree training time and location with team (**)
  • Plan the coaching session
  • Conduct the coaching session
  • Liasing with director of coaching as required on coaching and player activities
  • Decide on player positioning and substituion at games.
  • Guidance and mentoring of team members.

** Team training time and location will be at the discretion of the volunteer coach.  Location will need to be schools based as there is no spare capacity at Bayswater, and Devonport Domain is no longer available to NSU for training. 

Midget Youth Coaches

If you are aged 12 and over and are interested in helping out with the Midgets on Saturday morning -Please register on the NSU database as a member checking "Coach" (as well as player if applicable) under interests and indicating "assistance" and we will be in contact with you in the next few weeks.  There is a small honorarium amount paid to these player/coaches in recognition of their commitment.

You will be required to:

  • Complete some training with Midget Director of Coaching
  • Take the pre-game warm-up with your assigned teams
  • Referee your assigned games
  • Additional junior coaches will be required this season to support skills schools training

Alternatively, if you are over 15 and would like to coach one of the Junior participation teams please let us know and we will find you an appropriate team (see above - volunteer parent coaches)

AGM

The clubs Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 30 November at 7.30pm.

Please note that the date of the AGM has been changed from the 23rd November due to League changes that we hope to be clarified before the AGM.
