Development Football for Midgets

When

Our Midgets Academy for 2009 commences on Sunday 10^th May.

7th Grade

9.30am registration

10am to 11am coaching session

8^th Grade

10.30am registration

11am to 12pm coaching session

Where

The initial day will be at Bayswater Park, our home for Junior football. Whenever possible this will continue.  However in the event of this not being possible (poor weather) other arrangements will be made. 

What 

The academy will provide extra football and coaching for the keen midgets players.  These players will form representative teams for both 7^th and 8^th grades to play in Sunday tournaments at clubs around Auckland.  These tournaments will be identified and arranged by the Rep coaches.

Training will be run by our Midgets coaching director, Chris Bryson, and have input from Junior Director of Coaching, Paul Seaman.  Chris and Paul’s program will have a strong emphasis on technique and ball skills.  Chris will hold 6 coaching sessions commencing 10^th May.  It is envisaged that at least 3, and probably all will be on consecutive Sundays.  Rep coaches may hold additional sessions depending on tournament commitments.

In addition to this we require the assistance of parent (rep) coaches to assist with training, and for Sunday tournament games.

There will be no official trial, but there might be an assessment process depending on numbers required in each grade.  If in doubt come along and join in to the first session, and speak with the Midgets coordinator or Rep coaches.

Who

All 7^th and 8^th Grade boys and girls are invited to attend.  Children must play in their correct grade.

How Much

There will be a development fee of $85.  This will be due for payment after the squads have been confirmed.  Payment is not required to attend the first session. Payment covers all paid coaching and tournament fees.
