Teams numbers are generally from 3 to 5 a-side with 2-3 rolling subs. 3 a-side for the absolute beginner getting to 5 a side for 8 year olds. Play is done on a 1/4 field with small goals and no goal keepers. The emphasis is on fun and getting to touch the ball as many times as possible in a half hour game slot. This ensures no one is missed out when it comes to getting a piece of the action. HBC AFC continues to support the
Federation and is committed to Small Sided Games in the interest of the
development and enjoyment of these young players.
In
addition to this, skills based training may be offered during mid-week training sessions depending on numbers available to participate. These are usually held
at Stanmore Bay playing fields between 16:00
and 17:30 mid week during the playing session.
Development
squads chosen from this pool of players will be available in Under 6, Under 7 and Under 8 age-groups.
These squads will play in inter-club age group tournaments that are held through out the playing season.
