Sports Field Capacity Development Programme

Background
Stories of sports ground closures and game cancellations are hot topics at the beginning of each new sporting season. Growing community concern around the provision of sports fields, and the capacity of the region’s 700-plus fields to cater to increasing demand, has prompted the Auckland Council to create a targeted programme to focus on sports field provision.

Sponsorship opportunities at Oratia for the 2012 season.

Oratia United has pleasure in offering opportunities to potential sponsors for the 2012 season. With the club looking to move forward as it is, we feel that any potential sponsors will receive some very good exposure. Ideally we would like to bring onboard a family of sponsors now who can benefit from the growth of the club in to the future.

We already have several companies signed up but ideally are looking for another 5 or 6. All of these would be featured in our weekly match day programmes; would have a feature on the club website and a link to their own website; they would receive a ‘thank you’ message at all events (including weekly junior prize-giving) and we are manufacturing a large board that will be prominently displayed in the clubrooms featuring the logos of all sponsors. The cost of this package is extremely reasonable.

This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses who may have links to the club to advertise their company and play a massive part in helping us achieve the goals that we have set for the coming season.

If you would like to discuss further please contact Deborah Gosshawk our 1st Team Manager

Fundraising for the Womens Reserve Team.

As a reserves team we are not often given an official referee for our games.  Which means our coaches have to ref the games.  This often leads to biased referring as well as no one to coach us during the game.

So this season, we are hiring and paying for referees for each game to ensure player safety, preventing injury and promoting fair play.

If you are able to help us raise funds we need, come to the movies and have a great night.

Academies 2011

In 2010 Oratia United employed our Director of Football Steve Cain, with the focus on Junior and Youth Development. Under his direction we have seen the introduction of our Player Pathways and Club Strategy for 2010 onwards. Within the Player Pathways we saw the implementation of the High Performance Academy and the Development Academy. These academies were very successful and will continue in 2011, and will also focus on Females in Football with the introduction of a girl's only academy.

Gerihatricks do it again!

What an amazing season 2010 was for the Geris. It started with the team being promoted to the third division but then having to go through grading due to a restructuring of the Masters Competition. The comp went from 4 divisions in 2009 to 6 with the creation of a 5th Div and 40s section as well.
