Steve Cain
Director of Football

With the introduction of the clubs new Policy Document – Girls Football in 2011 we were able to enter five junior teams from 8th through to 12th along with our U17 girls’ team.
As a club we will continue to focus on the above and move forward by advertising with our stakeholders to increase teams for the 2012 season.

Melbourne’s East Bentleigh U17 Football team have arrived in Auckland for a 3 match tour against 3 West Auckland Clubs over the coming week.
They are staying at Mt Albert Grammar Boarding facilities during the week and then head down to Rotorua next weekend to sample some cultural activities and excitement.
On Monday the 12th December they will play Oratia United U17 1st Metro team on the Artificial Turf with a 3pm kick off followed by a BBQ for the teams and management at the club.

Oratia United will be concentrating this season on the club’s 1st team gaining promotion to the Northern Regional league. We currently have a young and ambitious group of players but are looking to add to this. We are therefore looking for experienced players who have played at this level of football or above who can help to develop this outstanding group of players. We are also interested in further young players who possess determination and potential.
As a reserves team we are not often given an official referee for our games. Which means our coaches have to ref the games. This often leads to biased referring as well as no one to coach us during the game.
So this season, we are hiring and paying for referees for each game to ensure player safety, preventing injury and promoting fair play.
If you are able to help us raise funds we need, come to the movies and have a great night.

In 2010 Oratia United employed our Director of Football Steve Cain, with the focus on Junior and Youth Development. Under his direction we have seen the introduction of our Player Pathways and Club Strategy for 2010 onwards. Within the Player Pathways we saw the implementation of the High Performance Academy and the Development Academy. These academies were very successful and will continue in 2011, and will also focus on Females in Football with the introduction of a girl's only academy.

At Oratia United we have seen some exciting changes over the 2010 season, with the club appointing our new Director of Football, Steve Cain. Under his direction we have implemented a new pathways programme, selection and trial process, along with our High Performance Academy and Development Academy.
For the 2011 season our focus will be on increasing the numbers of girls's teams at our club, in doing this we will offer.
