Shane Knowles, Director of Football for Bay Olympic, would like to introduce Steve Erkkila - Speed Coach. Steve has coached Olympic athletes, NZ Hockey, NZ Touch and the Vodafone Warriors. He has been working with Bay Olympic's 1st Team for the last 4 weeks and the players have noticed a huge inprovement.

Waitakere United became the first club to win four ASB Premiership titles in a row after outgunning Super City rivals Auckland City 4-3 in Whenuapai last Sunday 17th March. From the outset this was a match full of intensity, commitment and a will to win from two teams who are clearly this countries best.

The All Whites moved a giant step closer to next year's World Cup on Friday night when they beat New Caledonia, but it came in the most dramatic fashion when Tommy Smith scored in the fourth minute of injury time to secure a 2-1 win.

Linda was presented with an AFF Long Service Medal at a special function held at Metro FC’s Phyllis Street Reserve clubrooms on Tuesday 27th November. Linda was honoured, along with 7 other of Auckland Football’s most committed volunteers, marking their invaluable contribution to the sport.

Bay Olympic’s Director of Football won the prestigious Douglas Pharmaceuticals Coach of the Year at the glittering Unitec Sport Waitakere Awards and Dinner held at the Trusts Stadium last Friday 2nd of November.

Congratulations to Leah Mettam for being selected for the National Women’s League squad. Leah is only 14 and the youngest member of the squad. This season she played in the Bay Olympic U15 Galaxy team as well as in our Women's First team.

On the 29/9 - 1/10 the Bay Olympic Bombers (9th Grade Premier Team), attended the 9th grade Nationals Tournament at Three Kings.

Congratulations to our very own 0ver 30 Clowns on winning the Western Springs 0ver 40’s Tournament. All our players were over 40. A great achievement and a well earned result.

The celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the Bay Olympic Clubrooms went very well and were a lot of fun.

A comprehensive 3 - 0 win over 2nd placed East Coast Bays, let the Bay Olympic Men's Premier team win their 2nd consecutive Northern Regional Football League title. Congratulations to our Director of Football / Premier Team Coach, Shane Knowles, and the team, on a well executed campaign.

Congratulations to the mighty Bay Olympic 8th Grade Lions at winning the Lynn Avon Tournament Plate. They beat Three Kings 3-2 on penalties in the final, a super way to end the season.

This team dominated the grade this year with impressive stats. To watch great football and a team working as one you just had to go and see the Diamonds in action. Head coach Kris Pinnock and assistant coach Kevin Doran had this team consistently playing some of the best footy you may like to see.

Waitakere United won the ASB Premiership Grand Final on Saturday evening, 28th April, at Trusts Stadium, beating Team Wellington 4 - 1. The win gives W.U. a place in the 2013 Oceania competition, the winner of which goes to the FIFA Club World Cup. Bay Olympic are founding members of the W.U. franchise.

Bay Olympic is proud to announce Katie Lind as our Youth Girls Football Director. Katie is a very enthusiastic teaching professional with a background of coaching girls' football at high levels.

Bay Olympics Senior Men's Premier team had an outstanding season and finished their year on a winning note, beating Forrest Hill / Milford 6 - 1 at Beecroft Park.

As a franchise club of Waitakere United, Bay Olympic has achieved well in the pathways for development. In total Bay Olympic have 11 players who are playing in New Zealand National League.

Two players who spent their Junior, and most of their Youth, years at Bay Olympic were selected to represent New Zealand at recent international competitions. They are Nadia Pearl and Betsy Hassett.

22 year old Michael Fitzgerald was one of 3 new recruits to the March 2011 All Whites tour of Japan and China.

Congratulations to Bay Olympic 1^st Team player Ryan Elder. Ryan has been selected by the NZPFA (New Zealand Professional Footballers Association) to take part in the “”Tomorrow’s All White’s” tour of American West Coast Universities.

Listed as the under dog by the TAB and others, a spirited Bay Olympic Men's Premier team were prevented from causing an upset by some brilliant goal keeping by Mirimar's goalkeeper, the man of the match.
