Western Springs AFC Executive committee is excited to announce the appointment of Mr Neil Emblen to the position of Director of Football for the 2013 season.
His role at the club will include development of the player pathways for the junior into the senior club, coach development, and as first team player coach.
Neil's playing career has included playing in the English Premier League for Crystal Palace and more recently in the ASB premiership for Waitakere United.
His coaching experience includes current involvement with the All Whites as Technical Assistant and as Head Coach of the NZ Olywhites.
We welcome Neil to the club and we look forward to a very positive,productive 2013 season.

"Obviously as everybody at the club is I'm also very excited about the wonderful facilities that are being developed at the club.
 I feel a big part of my role is to get an understanding of the junior framework already in place at the club,then find the best methods to create a clear understanding of the junior to senior pathway within this club .Being the 1st team Head coach means it gives me the chance to fast track that opportunity for young players if I feel they are ready and will be able to step up. We want to be able to create a culture and environment here through these wonderful facilities that parents want there kids to remain at the club and work through this pathway/framework and aspire to be in the 1st team one day.

Promotion whilst developing players is the obvious target for the 1st team and a nice Chatham cup run would always be nice! Anybody who knows me will know I am very approachable and I will give my honest thoughts on any age group to help this club move forward in the future.
