An update on the Artificial Fields

They require a continuous period of dry weather to complete this process. Therefore at this stage they are still unable to give us a timetable for final handover of the fields.more

Kaye opens our new clubroom's extension

Auckland Central MP Nikki Kaye officially opened the new extension to the Western Springs AFC clubrooms on Wednesday evening.

The club marked the occasion with an official function and a floodlit match between the club’s 13th grade boys and 17th grade girls’ teams.

The new extension includes four additional changing rooms underneath the upstairs section of the clubrooms which houses new meeting room facilities and an addition to the current balcony overlooking the Seddon Fields main pitch.

Western Springs AFC club manager Paul Rutland described the process the club took to get the project completed.

“We initially went down the path of investigating the addition of four changing rooms,” Rutland said.

“The then local board member and Auckland City councillor Greg Moyle (who was also present on Wednesday evening) mentioned the Facilities Partnership Plan and what we’ve ended up with is a follow through on that.

“It’s fantastic to have these new additions to our clubrooms finished as we continue growing the community use of our facility. All the club members are stoked,” Rutland said.

Waitemata local board chair Shale Chambers was also present at the function and referred to being able to take first steps on the next project on the radar at Seddon Fields, the installation of an artificial turf playing surface.
