My name is Chris Sinclair. I have been a goalkeeper since 2000 and I am currently in the Canterbury United Dragons squad. I have been coaching goalkeepers since 2002, gaining my International Goalkeeper Coaching License in 2004 and I am currently working towards my International Team Coaching License.        


The Goalkeeper Academy
I have designed the Goalkeeper Academy for goalkeepers who want that extra specialised coaching to help them reach their true potential.

"It is surprising that goalkeepers are often neglected in coaching sessions.
Most goalkeepers just train with the outfield players and get no specialist input what so ever."

One of the major initiatives is to provide both genders, of all ages, the opportunity to be coached in all aspects of goalkeeping.
The main emphasis for all the courses will be developing and improving goalkeeper skills, through goalkeeper specific training.


Mission Statement
Goalkeeping is a specialist position and is so often neglected, but goalkeeping can and does have such a major effect on the game.
My mission is to provide the most comprehensive and enjoyable specialist goalkeeper coaching programme to all goalkeepers, from beginners to the top goalkeepers, within a safe and well equipped environment.





Academy Courses
The courses have been designed specifically for different levels of goalkeeping ability. From basic techniques for beginners to the advanced game realistic match situations for seniors.

Training will be in small groups, this will give the coach more opportunity to identify individual strengths and weaknesses
You will be placed with goalkeepers of similar age / ability so you feel comfortable in the training surroundings.

Intermediate Boys / Girls (12 -18 Years Old)

• Assessing and choosing the correct diving techniques

Advanced Boys / Girls (12 - 18 Years Old)

• Shot stopping and reaction saves

Senior Women and Senior Men (Senior 18+)
1½ hour long session

• Advanced goalkeeper movement and diving
  
• Shot stopping and reaction saves
  
• Crossing and distribution under pressure
  
• "The imperfect world"

One On One (For The Dedicated Goalkeeper)
1 hour long session

• Arranged on an individual basis
  
• Extra session on top of one of the courses
