2021 Club Committee Volunteers
An essential part of a thriving community sporting organisation are the volunteers who coordinate and communicate with their membership.
The Northside Wizards Basketball Association are seeking nominations for volunteers to assist with the operational aspects of the club during the 2017 competition year.
The primary responsibilities are coordinating player trials and placement into teams, along with the appointment of team coaches, managers and coordinating training session times. Also ongoing communication with the club membership base regarding development programs for players, officials and volunteers.
There are three roles that form the club committee:
- Club Manager
- Club Registrar
- Club Coach Coordinator
In some cases, (subject to discussion with the association,) these roles may be shared by more than one volunteer.
The club volunteers work with, and are supported by the association staff. There are some financial incentives to taking on a committee volunteer position.

Junior Registration Renewal: 2021 Season
Games are Saturday for U11’s & U13’s and Sunday for U15’s, U17’s & U19’s. ( Division 1 games will be played on Friday night). Games are usually played at Northside Sports Complex – Zillmere and sometimes at Boondal Sports Centre and Brendale Sports Centre.
Training 1 hour: is usually Monday & Wednesday - this will depend on the Coaches availability & court availability . For Term 1 it will be Wednesday and some teams on Friday.
Training Venue: TBA - Some training maybe held at existing Brendale Courts, the new Brendale Courts won’t be available until mid March,we will have alternatetraining venue until then for some of the teams.
You will need to provide a plain black pair of shorts with no pockets, you will be provided with a playing singlet.

Brendale Bobcats will be commencing their first trial 30th January. We will be having 2 trial days Saturday 30th January & Saturday 6th February, we recommend attending both trial dates if possible please. All players will need to be registered to attend the trials, Registrations are now open.
Trials will be held at Northside Indoor Sports Centre, Zillmere at the below times:
8:00am to 9:00am U11 - DOB - 2011 to 2012
8:00am to 9:00am U13 - DOB - 2009 to 2010
9:10am to10:10am U15 - DOB - 2007 to 2008
10:20am to 11:20am U17 - DOB - 2005 to 2006
11:30am to 12:30pm U19 - DOB - 2003 to 2004

Finals Player Qualifications
Are you qualified for finals?
REMINDER to all Brendale Bobcats players for finals
The player qualifications rules have changed and all players are required to participate in a minimum of 50% of the Championship season games
Saturday teams - 7 games minimum
Sunday teams - 6 game minimum
There are only three weeks of games before finals so please ensure you have enough game to qualify.

Our Age groups are as follows with Match Day.
2006/2007 Under 11’s Saturday Morning
2004/2005 Under 13’s Saturday Morning
2002/2003 Under 15’s Sunday Afternoon/Night
2000/2001 Under 17’s Sunday Afternoon/Night
1998/1999 Under 19’s Sunday Afternoon/Night
The boys will have a 1 hour training session each week. Our training days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at South Pine Sports Complex, Brendale starting from 3.30pm to 7.00pm.
Your son’s training day and time will depend on the team they are placed in, the Coaches availability and the court availability. These are not yet able to be determined till after the teams are decided. Please note that we do not guarantee a particular training day and that they can change from season to season as required.
Games are held at Boondall Entertainment Centre most weeks, however there are times when Boondall is unavailable, and games will be played at Brendale or Morayfield.
For game days, you will need to purchase plain black shorts (NO white stripes) and with NO pockets for game day. Shorts are available for purchase from the front desk at Boondall for $15.00.

CHECKING YOUR GAME TIME - EVERYONES RESPONSIBILITY
It is every players responsibility to check the games time, not just your managers. To do this go to the Northside Wizards website. Look under the tab that says competitions, go to draws/results/ladders and then find your day – either Saturday (U11 & U13) or Sunday (U15,17.19). Find your age group and division. Click on fixtures for your division and check your time. Make sure the date is the correct date for the weekend to come. If you are still having trouble finding this, check with your manager/coach.

List of Main Arena Events - please be mindful of the new security procedures during event days and allow extra time to travel and entry into the Sports Centre.

All players, coaches, team managers and spectators will be aware of the new security procedures for Boondall Entertainment Centre when Main Arena events are in operations. There will be a concert in operation this Sunday so allow plenty of time to get to your game.
1. As a condition of entry to the Sports Centre when a Main Arena event is in operation, all hirers, players and spectators will be required to undergo a bag and/or a pat down search.
2. All hirers, players and spectators are encouraged to leave their personal belongings at home or in their car and enter with minimum items, this will assist with prompt processing.
3. All hirers, players and spectators who are wearing large or bulky items will be asked to remove them and may be subject to a security pat down.
This will take into effect this Sunday for the Jason Derulo concert and these procedures will be in place when any event is on at Brisbane Entertainment Centre so please:
1. Allow extra time on Sunday for bag check and pat down search.
2. Players to not bring bags or only small bags, this will make it quicker when entering.
The next event will be on 5th December.
