CHILD PROTECTION REPRESENTATIVE.   POSITION DESCRIPTION – effective from 26 Aug 2007

It is the policy of this club, that a member is nominated and elected by the club executive to represent the club as the Child Protection Representative.

The child protection representative must hold a current blue card issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian (CCYP).  They need to demonstrate that they are honest, professional and ethical.

DUTIES

The child protection representative duties are:

·        To co-ordinate blue card register and applications

·        To monitor blue card compliance

·        To monitor child protection policies and procedures

·        Pass on any information regarding policy compliance or non-compliance to club president in writing.

·        A point of reference and contact for any club member to report disclosure or suspicion of harm too.

·        To immediately report any disclosure or suspicion of harm to a child to Queensland police or the department of child safety.
