2008 Young Stingrays U14 Squad Announced
After a very successful Skill Day held at Gold Coast Stadium on Wednesday, the 2008 Stingrays Initial Squad has been announced today.
Throughout the Skill Day 100 players aged 13 and 14 from all 10 Gold Coast Junior Clubs and 7 Northern Rivers Clubs were put through their paces, which included fitness testing (speed, agility, endurance and power), skill testing (kicking, handballing, marking and below the knees) and games.

This will be held in the Easter school holidays and we are fully aware that some players could be absent due to holidays, but this does not mean that they miss out as there will be further opportunities later in the season. more -->

The impressive Gold Coast Stingrays are the AFL Lions Academy State under 14 champions after surging to a big win in the grand final last Friday.

Brown Pumps Up Young Stars
Triple AFL premiership player and Brisbane Lions superstar, Jonathan Brown ventured down the highway to view the action on day one of the AFL Lions Academy State Under 14 Championships and was suitably impressed with the skills and the endeavour shown from all the boys. Brown was also on-hand to host an hour-long seminar, giving all the young aspirants an insight on the life and times of being an AFL footballer. An expert at telling a story, Brown had both players and parents captivated, detailing what it takes to become a superstar of the competition.

2006 Trophy Presentation a Huge Success
The Annual Gold Coast Stingrays Trophy Presentation Night, held for the first time at the Gold Coast Turf Club was attended by almost 200 people and was a huge success.

2006 State U14 Championships Results
The Stingrays finished a creditable third after going down to eventual State Champions and arch rivals the Bushrangers in game two and can be proud of their achievements.
