WELCOME TO THE PHOENIX BASKETBALL CLUB

PHOENIX Basketball Club was formed in 2006 from what was formerly the TAS Basketball Club, predominantly a school based club.

The new committee believed that the time was right to expand the club and include all players from the Cairns region and with an emphasis placed on the Southern Corridor.

A vote was put to all players and parents to decide on the clubs new name with an overwhelming majority deciding that the club would change its name to PHOENIX Basketball Club and transition to a community based club open to all eligible players.

PHOENIX is affiliated with Cairns Basketball Incorporated and as such is based out of the Early Settler Stadium, Aumuller Street Cairns.

The club caters for all age groups and currently includes age groups from Under 10’s through to U18’s in the Junior Competition. PHOENIX is also represented in the Senior competitions and includes a Far north Queensland Superleague side.

PHOENIX places an emphasis on developing players and coaches by providing an inclusive and safe environment based around enjoying the sport of basketball at all levels.
